Terra Haute, Indiana’s Benjamin Franklin Elementary has earned an Apples4Ed grant for their Coordinated Health Program. This program is encouraging both students and their families to improve their eating habits at their Falcon Fit & Fun Carnival. An entire day is loaded with immersive learning with a focus on health and wellness. Franklin’s Coordinated Health Program director aims to use the grant to fund the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables for the “Eat the Rainbow” wheel. Promoting better snacking and lifestyle choices is a heavy priority in Vigo County, and the school is looking forward to making the most out of this grant.
